Religare promotes Gautam Trivedi as CEO of I-banking & institutional equities arm

Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL), a public listed holding arm of the diversified financial services group, has promoted Gautam Trivedi as CEO of its investment banking and institutional equities arm, Religare Capital Markets Ltd (RCML), the company said in a release.

Trivedi joined Religare Capital Markets Ltd in 2011 as MD and head of institutional equities, India. He will continue to be based at RCML’s Mumbai office and will now report directly to Shachindra Nath, Group CEO of Religare Enterprises.

He has over two decades of experience in financial industry and will now oversee institutional equities, research, advisory and equity capital markets business in his new role.

Prior to joining Religare, Trivedi worked with Goldman Sachs, Hong Kong and Mumbai for seven years.

Previously Trivedi also worked with the firms like Reliance Industries Ltd, Jardine Fleming Asia (Hong Kong) and CLSA.

He holds an MBA degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Law and Commerce from the University of Bombay.

"We are scaling up our resource base across sales trading, research, ECM and investment banking desk and we are confident of gaining meaningful traction both on the client and the people’s side. Currently, RCML is empanelled with 400 plus institutional investors globally and covers 250 stocks under its research umbrella," the company said.

Religare operates as an integrated financial services company and through its subsidiaries has interests in brokerage, insurance, asset management, lending solutions, investment banking, wealth management and private equity.
