Religare Capital Markets Ltd, the investment banking arm of financial services group Religare Enterprises Ltd, has named Varun Lohchab its managing director and head of research.
The company also appointed Sanjay Vaid as director and head of cash sales trading, it said in a statement. Both executives will be based at the company’s Mumbai office.
Lohchab joined Religare Capital from CIMB India. He has previously worked at Fidelity and Franklin Templeton, and has 15 years of experience.
Vaid was the head of trading at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (India) and has 20 years of experience in the Indian capital markets.
Founded in 2006, Religare Capital provides financial advisory services and focuses on Asian emerging markets. It is present in six countries in Asia-Pacific, as well as London and Dubai. The company covers 150 stocks across 16 sectors.
Religare Enterprises, controlled by brothers Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, saw a high-profile departure earlier this month when group CEO Shachindra Nath resigned.
