Religare Capital Markets Ltd (RCML), the investment banking and institutional securities arm of financial services group Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL), has roped in Gautam Trivedi as managing director and head of institutional equities, India.
Trivedi brings to RCML more than 17 years of experience in financial services. During his previous stint at Goldman Sach, he had worked for seven years as MD and head of sales in India. He was also a director at Goldman Sachs India Pvt Ltd. Trivedi had also served as executive director, Asian equity sales, in Hong Kong.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, Trivedi was the vice-president (corporate finance) of Reliance Industries Ltd in Mumbai. He had started his career as a research analyst at DSP Merrill Lynch Ltd and went on to work in senior roles at CLSA and Jardine Fleming, Hong Kong.
In his current role, Trivedi and his global management team will drive the growth of the firm’s institutional securities business. Currently, RCML has notable presence across emerging markets. It has around 300 people on board, with more than 40 analysts, and covers a broad range of industry sectors, investment themes and macro economies.
