RBS Appoints Ramit Bhasin As Head of Markets In India

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Plc has appointed Ramit Bhasin as Head of Markets for its subsidiary, ABN AMRO India. The appointment comes as part of company's plan to strengthen the firm's wholesale and investment banking team in India.

Bhasin replaces Arun Khurana, who has relocated to Singapore to assume the role of regional head of Solution Sales and head of Corporate Risk Solutions. He will be responsible for enhancing the sales and trading platform across money markets, rates, foreign exchange, credit and commodities to provide a more cohesive, focused and efficient delivery platform to corporate and institutional clients, said the company in a statement.

Commenting on the appointment, Madan Menon, country head of Global Banking & Markets, India and Asia Pacific of RBS said that Bhasin will play a critical role in increasing the company’s focus and sustained growth on the corporate and institutional business.

Prior to his appointment at RBS, Bhasin has worked with HSBC, Citicorp and Salomon Smith Barney.
