Private investment in the food and agriculture sector has hit a record high, both in terms of the volume of transactions and the total value of announced deals.
In fact, with more than two months of the calendar year still ahead of us, the number of deals in the sector struck since January is already a third more than the previous high of 66 deals in the entire 2014, as per VCCEdge, the data research platform of VCCircle.
The aggregate value of the announced deals has also surpassed the previous best in 2012 (see chart). The data capture angel, venture capital as well as private equity transactions in such firms.
