o3 Capital ropes in Religare Capital’s corporate finance head Gaurav Khungar as MD

Gaurav Khungar, managing director and head of corporate finance at Religare Capital Markets, has left the firm to join as a managing director of Bangalore-based o3 Capital. In his new role, Khungar will focus on o3’s advisory business. Gaurav is an investment banker with more than 18 years' experience in equity capital market, mergers & acquisitions and PE transactions across different sectors.

Prior to joining Religare, Khungar was a partner at KPMG Corporate Finance where he was heading the Delhi office and was the practice head for industrials. He also had stints with Rabo Bank and Lazard in his early professional life. Khungar did his MBA from the University of North Carolina and graduated from the University of Delhi.

Confirming the development, Shyam Shenthar, CEO of o3 Capital, said, “We are delighted that Gaurav is joining us. As the Indian corporate finance industry has started coming of age after the past excesses, there is a growing need for mature advisors to assist both companies and investors in making the right decisions. We expect that providing knowledge-based advisory in this area will continue to be an important part of the services we provide to our clients and Gaurav will be a welcome addition to the team in this regard.”
