Nexus Venture Partners Ropes In Kotak’s KG Subramanian As CFO

Nexus Venture Partners has announced the appointment of K G Subramanian (KGS) as Chief Financial Officer. KGS, as he is known, will be based out of Mumbai.  Prior to this, he has served Kotak Mahindra Investments Ltd as senior vice-president (Finance & Operations). He was also the chief compliance officer of the company and was part of its asset liability, risk management and operating committees.

"KGS will help drive world-class corporate governance and financial reporting standards within Nexus and partner companies”, said Naren Gupta, Co-founder, Nexus Venture Partners, in a statement. Some of the companies that Nexus has invested in include Komli (Internet advertisement network), Suminter (Organic farming), Dlight (Solar Lighting), DimDim (Open Source Web Conferencing), Mapmyindia (Digital Navigation), Deccan Pharma (Neutraceuticals), Gluster (Open source storage), WhatsonIndia (TV Guide), Cloud.com (Cloud infrastructure), Pubmatic (Publisher Ad revenue optimization), Prana (Animation services) and Netmagic (Internet Infrastructure).

In his 14-year stint at the Kotak Group, KGS has played senior roles in accounting, treasury and other finance functions. At Kotak, he was also associated with Business Standard Ltd, a leading financial newspaper publisher and media house, for five years where he played a key role in improving the operational and financial discipline of the company. He has previously worked with Ashok Leyland Finance Ltd.
