Mitsui picks up 30% in plumbing major Toto’s India unit for $10.9M

Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co., Ltd is picking a 30 per cent stake in the India arm of Toto Ltd, one of the world’s largest sanitary ware and plumbing products manufacturer. The stake is being picked up for Rs 60 crore ($10.9 million) in Toto India Industries Private Ltd, valuing the firm at Rs 200 crore ($36.4 million). The remaining 70 per cent in Toto India continues to be held by Toto Asia Oceania Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s Toto.
