Indian private equity Industry is going through its share of growth and maturity pain. This, coupled with unfavourable environment in the local ecosystem, has slowed the pace of the sector. The Indian PE industry is yet to witness the best as maturity kicks in with experienced practioners getting better, increased sector/segment specialisation, availability of world class senior management for portfolio companies, transactions being underwritten at conservative assumptions and valuations, high quality due diligence, structured transactions to reduce risks among other recent well-meaning developments.
