Singapore-headquartered cloud-based telephony services provider Knowlarity Communications Pvt. Ltd has acquired Mumbai-based Sunoray Solutions Pvt. Ltd for an undisclosed amount, a company statement said.
With this acquisition, Knowlarity will gain access to Sunoray’s small and medium-sized enterprise market as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning products, the statement added.
“The acquisition is consistent with our strategy of acquiring businesses that complement our scale-up, both, in terms of revenue and breadth of offering to our customers. We will also aggressively target the Enterprise Customer with the expanded product,” Ambarish Gupta, founder and chief executive of Knowlarity said.
Founded by Rahul Arora and Sumontro Roy in 2014, Sunoray Solutions offers SMEs cloud-based telephony and customer relationship management solutions, which can be downloaded as mobile apps.
Knowlarity was founded in 2009 by Gupta and Pallav Pandey, alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. It offers cloud communications products such as SuperFax, SuperReceptionist, SuperConference and SuperCaller for enterprises. For larger companies, it provides interactive voice response solutions, which can be integrated into their tech systems. The firm is headquartered in Singapore, with offices in Gurugram (its first office), Mumbai and Bengaluru. It claims to serve more than 15,000 customers. Some of its clients are Via.com, Deliveroo, Darwin Interior, Yoga+, Global Academy, Bayzat, and High Speed Internet Service Technology LLC. It currently has a workforce of over 300 employees spread across 8 offices in India, South East Asia and Middle East.
The company counts Sequoia Capital, Mayfield Fund and Delta Partners as its investors.
Knowlarity had last raised money in November 2016 in a Rs 133-crore Series C round led by Duba-based private equity firm Delta Partners Capital. Sequoia Capital India and Mayfield Fund had also participated in the round.
The company has made two acquisitions. In 2014, it had bought Delhi-based cloud telephony start-up Unicom Techlabs for an undisclosed amount. In May 2016, it acquired customer-engagement firm Smartwards Services Pvt. Ltd.
