Kavveri Technologies Americas Inc, a fully owned US-based subsidiary of telecom equipment maker Kavveri Telecom Product Ltd, has acquired the wireless division of NASDAQ-listed . However, the financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, Kavveri Technologies would be able to enhance its wireless systems solutions business and expand the market base and sales channels for the Kavveri Group in the US.

The acquisition will also add $30 million to Bangalore-based Kavveri Group’s topline in the first year and broaden its wireless system solution capabilities for in-building, LMR, WiFi, wireless broadband, telemetry/SCADA and video application in the US markets, according to a BSE filing.

Shares of Kavveri Telecom last traded at Rs 220.90 a unit on the BSE, down 0.74 per cent in a weak Mumbai market on Thursday.

This is the second overseas acquisition by Kavveri Telecom in less than a year. Last November, the company acquired Spanish antenna maker Rymsa Telecom from Radiacion y Microondas SA.

Established in 1995, US-based WPCS provides infrastructure services for wireless communication, specialty construction and electrical power segments. The company caters to corporate and private enterprises; telecom, energy and utility providers; healthcare organisations, educational institutions and public services organisations globally.

Kavveri Telecom provides hardware products and solutions for telecom, defence and space industries. During the last five years, it had acquired six RF products and antenna manufacturing companies in North America, Spain and Mexico. These include Til-Tek Antennae Inc. (a manufacturer of antennas for GSM, 3G, LTE and wireless technologies) in 2006, DCI Digital Communications (a manufacturer of RF products for different wireless technologies) in 2007, Spotwave Wireless Ltd (a manufacturer of repeaters for in-building solutions for GSM, 3G and LTE Technologies) in 2008 and Trackcom Systems International (a manufacturer of RF products and antennas for defence and space applications) in 2009 besides Rymex of Mexico and Rymsa Telecoms of Spain.
