JAFCO Ventures Raises $100M For Its Fourth Fund

Jafco Ventures, which has made several investments in India, has raised $100 million from Japanese parent company Jafco Co. Ltd to capitalize its fourth fund, said a company statement.

The Palo Alto-based firm has also hired Paul Sallaberry, most recently an executive with Veritas Software, as a venture partner. This addition to the team comes on the heels of Nick Sturiale and Jeb Miller joining Jafco early last year as General Partners.

The venture fund, which has been an active investor in broad-based information technology companies, has also diversified its investing themes to energy and food/agriculture.

Jafco’s investment portfolio, skewed towards the technology space, in India reads like this: communication equipment firm Tessolve Services Pvt Ltd; application software firm Si2 Microsystems Pvt. Ltd; internet firm Apnapaisa Pvt. Ltd; IT consulting firm Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd- IT consulting; industrial machinery company Microqual Techno Pvt. Ltd; Vignani Technologies Pvt. Ltd and Microland.
