IndusLaw poaches from RDA Legal again; HSA hires Citius Law founding partner

IndusLaw has hired RDA Legal partner Anupam Prasad and his two team members, the second time this year that the law firm has poached from its rival.

Prasad joins as a corporate partner in IndusLaw’s Mumbai office, along with lawyers Anindita Ganguly and Trupti Katale.

Prasad has experience in general corporate and commercial laws practice, private equity investments, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Earlier this year, IndusLaw hired RDA Legal’s entire employment practice team including partner Avik Biswas. In January, IndusLaw beefed up its New Delhi office by hiring seven executives from HSA Advocates.

IndusLaw was the second-ranked law firm last year by number of private equity and venture capital deals advised.

An emailed query to IndusLaw seeking additional information on the new hires didn’t elicit any response by the time of filing this article.

Meanwhile, HSA Advocates has appointed Sharath Chandrasekhar as a partner in the firm’s new office in Bangalore. He will join Megha Arora, who handles the Bangalore office, it said in a statement.

Chandrasekhar graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and holds an LL.M. from Duke University School of Law in the US. With this appointment, HSA has a total of 23 partners and associate partners across offices.

Prior to joining HSA, Chandrasekhar was one of the founding partners at Citius Law Advocates. He has previously worked at J. Sagar Associates and Axis Bank, with a focus on banking and finance, real estate, and private equity and venture capital transactions, over a decade-long career.

In another people-related movement at a law firm, Mumbai-based Rajani & Associates' senior partner Sanjay Israni has joined Desai & Diwanji’s capital markets team as a partner in Mumbai.

At Rajani Associates, Israni was in charge of the firm’s domestic initial public offering mandate. Israni graduated from Mumbai’s Jitendra Chauhan Law College in 1999 and had a stint with Hariani & Co before joining Rajani in 2003. Rajani Associates was founded in 1999.

An emailed query to Rajani Associates seeking more information did not elicit any response by the time of filing this article.
