Indus Towers names Bimal Dayal as CEO

Indus Towers names Bimal Dayal as CEO

Telecom infrastructure firm Indus Towers has named Bimal Dayal as chief executive officer.

Dayal will succeed BS Shantharaju, who retires on March 31, 2016, after a six-year-long stint with the company.

Dayal has been associated with Indus Towers since 2010 as chief operating officer.

He has 28 years of industry experience, including stints with Ericsson, Qualcomm and Tata Telecom. He has also served as MD of Ericsson in Sri Lanka.

Bimal, an alumnus of Harvard Business School, holds a double bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Law.

Indus is a joint venture between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. Bharti Airtel, through its telecom infrastructure arm Bharti Infratel, and Vodafone India hold 42 per cent in Indus Towers while Idea Cellular holds 16 per cent.

The company has presence in 15 major telecom circles in India.
