Improving quality of retail loan assets strengthens banks’ consumer lending focus

Reams have been rolled out on the stench coming out from non-performing assets (NPAs) or bad loans of Indian banks, especially the public sector lenders – a reality that Indian bankers are grappling with for some time now. But there is some good news too for the banking sector with an uptick in the quality of retail loan assets.
