ICICI Securities Partners With Oppenheimer For Biz Opportunities

ICICI Securities Ltd has entered into a joint venture with US-based Oppenheimer & Co Inc. to co-operate on business opportunities in the USA and India. The alliance covers a wide range of securities activities, including equity and debt capital markets services, advisory services, private equity transactions and wealth management.

“We believe that this partnership with Oppenheimer, a strong US-based financial institution, will intensify our business in the USA and create the synergy to grow our business in India,” said Anup Bagchi, MD & CEO of ICICI Securities.

Under this partnership, the two partners will look at the opportunities to introduce Indian companies in the US securities market, ensure the US distribution of Indian offerings and placements and focus on cross-border advisory & offering for the private clients of Oppenheimer and ICICI Securities, as well as equity and wealth management products, in India and the USA.

“This alliance will provide us with a wide range of opportunities in corporate advisory and plays to the strength of our existing business activities,” said Steve Bernstein, CEO of Oppenheimer Investments Asia Ltd.

This comes close on the heels of a similar partnership with Collins Stewart Hawkpoint where the alliance covers advisory services, private equity transactions, debt advisory services and other corporate finance advice. It also covers introduction of Indian companies to the London securities markets, distribution of the offerings and placements of Indian or dual-listed securities in the UK and Europe, joint publication and distribution of research on more than 100 Indian-listed companies in the UK and Europe and the facilitation of secondary trading of securities of Indian-listed companies through ICICI Securities.
