Helmut M Schühsler, chairman, TVM Capital, on bringing portfolio companies in India, investment strategy and global fundraising plans

TVM Capital is a group of private equity firms which invests in healthcare and lifescience sectors across Europe and US and now is targeting emerging markets. The group has raised or has assets under management of around $1.2 billion and has invested in more than 250 companies across the globe.

TVM Capital MENA, which recently changed its name to TVM Capital Healthcare Partners, is part of TVM Capital group and focuses on investing in healthcare products and services segments in emerging markets like Middle East, Africa and India. The company, which is based out of Dubai, has committed a minimum investment of $100-150 million in India in two-three years. One of its portfolio companies Bourn Hall UK entered the Indian market a few years ago and is now planning to expand aggressively.

VCCircle met Helmut M Schühsler, chairman of TVM Capital during his recent visit to India. In a rare interaction, Schühsler spoke about his plans for India, possibility of bringing more portfolio companies in the country, attractive segments it’s looking at and the group’s fundraising plans to raise half a billion dollars globally.
