Wadias controlled private budget carrier Go Airlines (India) Ltd, which operates under the GoAir banner, has roped in Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as chief executive officer (CFO), according to a press release. His appointment is effective from Monday.

Schauer, an Australian by nationality, has almost three-and-a-half decades of experience. Prior to joining GoAir, he worked with Germany-based Air Berlin as CEO and executive director. Previously, he has served as CEO of British Midland International (BMI) and Jet Airways.

He had quit as CEO of Jet Airways after more than a six-year stint in 2009 to join BMI.

He takes over a post left vacant in March when Giorgio De Roni stepped down as CEO of GoAir.

“We are also pleased to inform that the company has made a 21 per cent increase in the operating revenue with EBITDA reporting an improvement of 76 per cent over the previous financial year. Passenger growth was 13.2 per cent over last year, the market share went from 8.5 per cent to 9.3 per cent and the load factor from 74.3 per cent to 79.2 per cent for the financial year ended March 31, 2015," said Jehangir Wadia, managing director of GoAir.
