Freshdesk acquires Konotor for in-app customer support play

Tiger Global Management-backed Freshdesk Inc has acquired in-app customer support platform Konotor for an undisclosed amount.

Konotor allows businesses to talk to their mobile app users by creating a chat inbox inside the app.

“Mobile-first companies face a unique set of challenges in customer support and user engagement, creating the need for a different solution. Konotor has demonstrated significant early success in addressing this need, by enabling marquee apps to engage better with their users,” said Girish Mathrubootham, CEO, Freshdesk.

The Konotor deal is Freshdesk’s third acquisition in the last five months.  In October, Freshdesk acquired social recommendation platform Frilp. In August, the SaaS-based customer support firm acquired video chat software 1Click.io for an undisclosed amount amount.
