Cloud-based customer engagement platform Freshworks, which was formerly known as Freshdesk, has appointed Sidharth Malik as chief revenue officer.
Malik will focus on accelerating revenue growth and lead go-to-market teams at Freshworks, the firm said in a statement.
Previously, Malik was India managing director of Akamai Technologies. He has also worked with Microsoft, IBM and Salesforce.
“With its refreshing suite of business software, Freshworks is well positioned to transform the way its customers engage with their customers and employees. I look forward to partnering with Girish and the team at Freshworks as we expand our product portfolio and partner deeper with customers,” said Malik.
Founded in 2011 by former Zoho employees Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy, Freshworks is backed by CapitalG (formerly Google Capital), Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and has raised close to $150 million in external funding to date, according to VCCEdge, the data research platform of News Corp VCCircle.
In June this year, Freshdesk rebranded as Freshworks to position itself as a multi-product brand. Freshwork’s products are used by more than 100,000 customers across 145 countries.
So far, Freshworks has acquired seven firms including SaaS-based data integration platform Pipemonk, social chat platform Chatimity Software, Faridabad-based Memeticlabs Technologies, Pune-based visual collaboration platform Framebench, in-app customer support platform Konotor, social recommendations platform Frilp and video chat software 1Click.io.
