IAN’s Abhinav Mathur backs recruitment app Jobick

Indian Angel Network (IAN) member and angel investor Abhinav Mathur has backed Noida-based Talentiser Labs that runs recruitment app Jobick with an undisclosed round of seed funding.

Mathur stepped down from his position as chief strategy and technology officer of BK Modi-promoted Spice Global in July last year to become active in the startup ecosystem. He has made early stage investments in half dozen companies and is starting something on his own.

Founded in July 2015 by Ravi Wadhwa, Mohit Mirwani and Jitendra Singh, Talentiser was running a beta version of its mobile app Jobick on android and iOS till December and launched full-fledged versions this month. “We have mobile and internet startups as early adopters,” said Wadhwa, CEO of the company. Wadhwa and Mirwani have been running a recruitment consulting firm MNR for over eight years and Talentiser emerged as an offshoot of this business.

Wadhwa said Talentiser has clients including Oyo Rooms, UrbanClap, Zopper, NDTV Digital, Mobikwik and Paytm. He said so far about five companies have done recruitment using its app. “Jobick is a mobile first job talent search platform that ensures faster turnaround using social network profiles of candidates with a built-in communication and referral mechanism,” claimed Wadhwa.  “It promotes skills based selection that does not require detailed CVs,” he added.

Mathur, who is a PhD from IIT Delhi and holds a management degree from IIM Lucknow, has been a mentor to the startup from inception. His portfolio companies include social learning network Eduposse and media startup Lock Times.
