Equirus Capital Appoints Mukesh Jain As Head Of PE Practice

Equirus Capital Pvt Ltd, a global investment bank offering advisory services, has appointed Mukesh Jain as the head of its private equity practice. It said the hire would strengthen the private equity syndication business of the firm.

Jain is a former executive at market research organisation Ernst & Young (E&Y). He was an associate director in the firm and has prior knowledge in transaction activity. He has actively worked in fund raising on various transactions in sectors including digital cinema, online, and print media companies. Prior to that, he worked with GE Capital’s private equity arm, Kotak and SBI Capital Markets Ltd.

Equirus has closed 24 deals in around 2 years covering M&A, private equity, structured finance and capital markets. It has recently forayed into the institutional equities business with the launch of Equirus Securities. The equities business arm is led by Bhavin Shah, who joined the firm from JP Morgan in February this year.

Apart from Jain and Shah, Equirus Capital also hired Abhijeet Biswas as the head of its M&A practice.

Equirus Capital Pvt Ltd was founded in 2007 as a boutique investment bank operating in mid-market segment with presence in Bangalore, Mumbai, New York and London. It offers advisory services in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, merchant banking and structured financing.
