EdTechReview gets pre-Series A funding from EVC Ventures

Delhi-based Eduvative Technologies LLP, which operates ed-tech media platform EdTechReview, has raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A round of funding from EVC Ventures. The round was led by Anjli Jain, managing partner, EVC Ventures.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its activities in different cities, it said in a statement.

EdTechReview is a media platform for educational stakeholders to find useful news, information and resources on educational technology.

“On the one side, hundreds of ed-tech startups are itching to understand the Indian education system, and on the other hand, thousands of educators are looking to take their practices to the next level using various technologies. So we see EdTechReview as the only organisation playing a key role in bridging this gap between the two sets of stakeholders,” said Utkarsh Lokesh, co-founder, EdTechReview.

The company was founded in 2012 by Lokesh, Shantanu Rana, Divya Prakash and Saransh Garg. It claims to be serving over 60,000 subscribers globally, working with over 1,000 K-12 and higher education institutions and over 100 ed-tech startups and companies worldwide.

It also claims to have readers from across the globe with over 200,000 visitors a month.

EVC is a $50 million fund focused on early stage investments in ad tech, e-commerce, gaming, education, mobile apps, enterprise software, wearables and Internet of Things (IoT).

Gurgaon-based Aaidea solutions Pvt. Ltd, which runs micro-delivery grocery startup Milkbasket, had recently raised $500,000 (Rs 3.3 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by venture capital firm EVC Ventures.
