umbai-based specialty chemicals maker Dorf Ketal Chemicals India Pvt Ltd has completed the acquisition of US-based specialty oilfield chemical provider Flow-Chem Technologies LLC, as per a press statement.

Flow-Chem operates across Gulf of Mexico and the US onshore market with blending facilities located at Rayne, Louisiana and Pleasanton, Texas in US and multiple warehouses.

“This acquisition is aligned to Dorf Ketal’s strategic vision of having a presence in both upstream and downstream hydrocarbon market,” it said in the statement.

“The acquisition provides a ready conduit to introduce Dorf Ketal’s technologies to accelerate entry into the US upstream market,” Subodh Menon, Dorf Ketal’s founder and  director – operations & business development, said.

“There will be manufacturing and supply chain synergies to increase cost competitiveness in the challenging oilfield market. We will seek supply chain efficiencies, provide infrastructure support and laboratory facilities to improve cost competitiveness and help retain and acquire customers in this challenging market sector,” he said.

“With the acquisition, the expanded portfolio will augment the growth trajectory of Dorf Ketal’s business,” the firm said in the statement.

“Flow-Chem’s portfolio of oilfield production and drilling products will be combined with Dorf Ketal’s products currently servicing offshore fields in Brazil to improve capabilities of both entities,” said David Johnson, president, Dorf Ketal Oilfield Chemicals.

Earlier this year, Dorf Ketal agreed to acquire Thane-headquartered Filtra Catalysts & Chemicals Ltd for an undisclosed amount.

Dorf Ketal is a producer of organometallic titanates, a chemical used in deep sea drilling to extract crude oil. It offers process additives to the downstream hydrocarbon industry and Filtra’s acquisition is seen as strategic fit to enhance its offerings.
