Credit Suisse Appoints Sai Tampi As Head Of Wealth Management Biz

Swiss bank Credit Suisse has appointed Sai Tampi as Director and Head of Multi Asset Class Solutions (MACS), which is a part of its asset management division, for India. Tampi was till now working with  HSBC Investments in India as Senior Vice President & Head of Portfolio Managers.

At Credit Suisse, Tampi will be overseeing MACS operations in India and will grow Credit Suisse's wealth management business in India and the South Asian markets. He will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Alex Buerge, Head of MACS Asia Pacific & the Middle East and regionally to Puneet Matta, Head of Wealth Management in India.

Credit Suisse has hired several people for its top management team in India in the past couple of months. Last month it hired Pankaj Kalra from DSP Merrill Lynch as managing director in its India investment banking team. In August, it poached three investment bankers from its rival banks. It hired Sughosh Moharikar and Samita Shah as managing directors of investment banking from Kotak Mahindra and Lehman brothers. It also hired Ashim Ahuja as a director in the same department from Deutsche Bank.

Tampi is a management passout from IIM Kolkata, and also holds a degree from INSEAD. Credit Suisse obtained Portfolio Management License last year and since then has been expanding its operations. It isproviding high net worth individuals as well as family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in India with a plethora of investment products and services.
