Apollo Sindhoori Capital Investments Ltd (ASCIL), the retail broking arm of the Aditya Birla Financial Services Group, has roped in Ravishankar Gopalan, till recently vice-president with Citi Bank, as COO.
In his new role at Apollo Sindhoori, Gopalan will take charge of functions such as finance, funds, administration, secretarial, information technology and operations, legal and compliance, according to a company press release. Gopalan will report to Sudhakar Ramasubramanian, Executive Director, ASCIL.
In his previous engagement with Citi Bank, Gopalan was responsible for securities and fund services operations for its KL Centre of Excellence, Malaysia. He is a 15-year veteran in banking and financial service operations.
Started in 1995, Apollo Sindhoori became a part of Aditya Birla Group in March 2009 when the latter acquired 76% stake in the company through Aditya Birla Nuvo. ASCIL offers trading services across equity and derivative segment, commodity segment, depository participant services of NSDL and CDSL, online bidding for IPO and distribution of mutual funds. The Aditya Birla Financial Services Group has presence across verticals including life insurance, fund management, distribution & wealth management, security-based lending, insurance broking and private equity.
