BNP Paribas India Appoints Murugaiyan As Head Of Investment Banking

Investment banking firm BNP Paribas India has roped in Ganeshan Murugaiyan as head of investment banking and global strategic coverage for India, the company has said in a statement today.

Prior to this appointment, Murugaiyan worked as the head of investment banking at UBS Securities India where his key responsibilities included M&A and capital markets. He had also worked with Merrill Lynch until 2006.

In his new role, Murugaiyan will report to Jacques Michel, CEO and country head, BNP Paribas India, and Christian de Charnace, head of corporate finance for BNP Paribas Asia-Pacific.

Murugaiyan holds a post-graduate diploma in management from IIM-Kolkata.

India is an exciting market with strong cross-border potential and this appointment highlights our commitment to growing our investment banking presence here while leveraging on our global reach,” said Christian de Charnace.
