BNP Paribas Hires RS Krishnan To Head Corporate Finance

BNP Paribas has hired RS Krishnan as Managing Director of Corporate Finance in India. Krishnan was working with ICICI Securities Ltd, where he was the Head of Financial Institutions Group business. Krishnan will now be responsible for driving the corporate finance business the French bank in India.

"Krishnan's appointment is another important step in building our presence in this market. This follows the recent launch of our India research products and the successful execution of the first full DMA order in India," said Abhijit Raha, CEO of BNP Paribas Securities India. BNP Paribas's research team is headed by Praveen Chakravarty, COO and Acting Head of Equity Research. "With Krishnan's strong background in corporate finance, we will look to accelerate the growth of the business with the aim of making BNP Paribas a full-service investment bank in India," added Raha.

Krishnan will bring with him an experience of over 15 years in corporate finance, spanning public offerings, equity and equity linked, M&A, private equity and restructuring for domestic and international companies. BNP Paribas initiated their corporate finance business in India since 2006 and had originated significant mandates. Leveraging its strong global franchise, the corporate finance business in India has been focusing on cross-border M&A deals and international equity capital markets.

"BNP Paribas is poised to seize the significant opportunities offered by India's financial market and provide our clients a full suite of investment banking products with global sector expertise," said Krishnan.
