Avigo Capital Partners, a mid-market private equity fund, has roped in former State Bank of India managing director S. K. Bhattacharyya as senior advisor to the fund. Bhattacharya retired from SBI last October after his association with the bank for more than 38 years.

Said Bhattacharya, “I am excited to associate with a young and energetic Avigo team and I am confident that my experience with mid-corporate groups would help Avigo’s portfolio companies.” This is the second high profile banker joining the fund after Mr N. Vaghul, former chairman of ICICI Bank, associated with the fund from 2006 as chairman of the investment committee and advisory board.

There are other funds as well, who have inducted advisors to the fold. In March this year, Aditya Birla Private Equity, a part of the Aditya Birla Financial Services Group (ABFSG), inducted Shailesh Haribhakti as a member of the advisory board. Also, Simon CH Wilson, former British Deputy Ambassador to Bahrain and British High Commissioner to Eastern India, was appointed as special advisor to Prosperitus Capital Partners.
