August Capital Partners invests in Singapore-based online healthcare startup MyDoc

Singapore-based MyDoc Pvt Ltd, the company behind MyDoc, an online platform that connects patients with healthcare providers, has secured an undisclosed amount in funding from August Capital Partners, Sameer Narula, managing partner of the Singapore-based VC firm, told VCCircle.

The startup was founded in 2012 by Snehal Patel and Vas Metupalle - both medical doctors by profession.

MyDoc is a healthcare platform that provides patients and healthcare providers with a system for communication and care management. MyDoc remotely delivers healthcare, and merges various communications and record-keeping functions into a single platform. Its other features include virtual consultations by voice, video and text, peer-to-peer messaging, appointment scheduling and personal health diaries.

MyDoc links multiple provider groups, including general practitioners, specialists, hospitals and nursing homes, and also enables secure and efficient information sharing between providers about their patients. The service is also available on iOS and Android platforms.

“With our system, chronic care patients can receive low-level, non-intrusive monitoring. This helps lighten healthcare providers’ workload and save transportation time and costs for patients. Disease developments are reported earlier and corrective action can be taken sooner, preventing the escalation of disease,” said Patel.

“MyDoc cuts out the unnecessary layers and provides patients the freedom to take control of their health in a secure and intuitive way,” said Metupalle.
