Apollo Hospitals founder and chairman Prathap Reddy on entering new segments, acquisition strategy, pharmacy biz and expansion

India’s largest healthcare service provider by market capital – Apollo Enterprises Ltd, which started its first hospital in Chennai in 1983, operates 61 hospitals, more than 1,500 pharmacies and over 100 primary care and diagnostic clinics.

The company also has interest in other healthcare verticals like health insurance, global projects consultancy and academic foundations, among others.

In an exclusive interaction with VCCircle, Prathap Reddy, founder and chairman of the group, discusses various facets of the company, including entering single specialty segment, opening hospital in Tanzania, focusing on tier II and III cities and seeking partner for pharmacy business.
