Mumbai-based brokerage firm Angel Broking Pvt Ltd has elevated Santanu Syam, currently executive director-operations, to chief operating officer of the group businesses with immediate effect, according to a press release.
Syam had joined Angel Broking in June 2008 and was heading operations, compliance, customer service & legal departments.
Prior to joining Angel Broking, he had about 18 years of wide experience and competencies in business process re-engineering, operational risk management, project management, strategic planing, treasury and transaction consumer banking etc.
Syam has worked in leadership roles with global organizations like Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ Grindlays etc.
“Santanu has an innate understanding of the need for operational efficiencies and driving excellence aiming at customer delight. I have tremendous confidence in Santanu's ability to take further the excellence of Angel's industry-leading operational practices to drive and extend the market leadership," said Vinay Agrawal, chief executive officer of Angel Broking Group.
Last year in December, the company had elevated Vinay Agrawal as its chief executed officer (CEO). He was also working as an executive director with the company and was actively involved in exploring new ways to adopt technology for business enhancement.
