Andrew Holland, the former head of Strategic Risk Group at DSP Merrill Lynch, has joined Ambit Holdings as CEO of Institutional Equities and Equity Proprietary Trading for Ambit Capital Pvt Ltd. He has also got with him Vaibhav Sanghvi and Piyush Shah, who were also at DSP Merrill Lynch. This follows the uncertainty at DSP Merrill Lynch over the fate of its employees after the acquisition of its parent company by Bank of America only yesterday.

"Apart from his expertise in the research and equity proprietary trading space, Andrew is known as a strong leader and someone who has the ability to build successful businesses for leading organizations and is able to attract, retain and motivate talent," said Ashok Wadhwa, CEO & MD, Ambit Corporate Finance. This is the second senior appointment at Ambit in past month, which appointed Nikhil Puri as the Managing Director for Ambit Corporate Finance last month.

Holland has experience spanning over 25 years across Asia and Europe. He has worked with banks like County Nat West, Barclays (BZW) and Credit Suisse. He has also been credited with successfully building the DSP Merrill Lynch's research team in India.
