Advisory firm Waterfield appoints Munish Randev as CIO, Amit Shah as director

Mumbai-based boutique advisory firm specialising in family businesses Waterfield Advisors Pvt Ltd has appointed Munish Randev as chief investment officer (CIO) for its multi-family office business and Amit Shah as director of corporate advisory services, the company said in a release. Both Randev and Shah will be based out of the firm's Mumbai office.

Randev, who has almost two decades of experience in various functions of investment advisory, including portfolio advisory, product management, broking, asset management, etc, joined Waterfield Advisors from Avendus Wealth where he spent more than four years as the head for investment advisory. Prior to Avendus, he worked for the Fidelity Funds group in India where he headed the NRI & institutional businesses and product proposition. Randev has also worked with ABN Amro Bank. 

Shah has over 18 years of experience in investment banking and various related financial services functions. He has worked across industry sectors including telecom, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, construction / EPC, shipbuilding/marine engineering, hospitality, real estate, EMS, industrials and garments/apparel accessories. His last assignment was as senior director – investment banking with Avista - Houlihan Lokey in Mumbai.

Founded in 2011 by Soumya Rajan, Waterfield Advisors offers advisory services to entrepreneurs, ultra-high net worth (UHNW) families, trusts and corporate clients under three verticals, including Family Office Services, Corporate Advisory Services and Alternative Asset Management (Private Equity & Real Estate).

In March this year, brothers Amit & Arihant Patni, sons of one of the co-founders of Patni Computers, had announced a strategic investment in Waterfield Advisors.
