Accenture names Anindya Basu as country MD and Rekha Menon as chairman in India

Global management consulting services firm Accenture has elevated Anindya Basu as country managing director and Rekha M Menon as chairman of Accenture in India, according to a press release. Both the appointments will be effective from August 21, 2015.

Basu will help the company drive its domestic business in India and build relationships with key clients by leveraging the company's capabilities in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.

He will also continue his role with Accenture’s products clients in India as well as serving as the APAC regional lead of the company's automotive, industrial, infrastructure and travel & transportation Industry practice.

Basu comes with 23 years of experience and held various leadership roles across industries including automotive, industrial equipment, travel and transportation, consumer goods and chemicals.

“Anindya has a strong knowledge of our business and has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to our clients and our people...with his experience, insights and vision for our business in India, he is well equipped to make a difference in this important market,” said Gianfranco Casati, Accenture’s group chief executive, growth markets.

Rekha is currently managing director, human resources for Accenture’s growth markets and has been engaged in the development and execution of the company's human capital strategy for Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Russia, Turkey and Latin America.

In her new role, she will play a key role in taking forward Accenture’s business and strengthening its presence across India, and also be responsible for institutional relationships with public authorities and industry associations.

She joined Accenture in 2004 to set up the corporate function for Accenture in India and was previously working with Geographic Operations for India, ASEAN and the Asia Pacific Delivery Centres as managing director, where she supported the growth and development of Accenture’s Global Delivery Network.

Prior to joining Accenture, she headed Talisma Corp in India and was also a part of the India startups and executive management teams of Levis Strauss, Akzo Nobel and Cargill Inc.

“Her experience will be extremely valuable as we continue to build our brand and enhance our reputation as a leader in India,” Casati said.

Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has more than 336,000 employees in over 120 countries. For the fiscal year ended August 31, 2014, the company generated net revenues of $30 billion.
