Ahmedabad based-Adani Power Ltd has appointed Prabal Banerjee as Chief Fincancial Officer (CFO) of the company. Private equity major 3i Group-backed Adani Power, which is developing a number of power projects along with dedicated transmission systems, is a subsidiary of group flagship Adani Enterprises Ltd.
Banerjee was most recently the Group President Finance & Group Chief Financial Officer at the Hinduja Group. At Hinduja, Banerjee was responsible for leading strategic investments, M&A, new ventures and offer strategic financial planning advice to group companies. His stint with Hinduja Group started in July, 2006. Prior to that Banerjee has served the Mahindra Group and helped company to hatch big deals like Mahindra-Renault joint venture as Group Vice-President (Finance).
Banerjee was trained at the London School of Economics, IIM, ISB, ASCI, XLRI and the Michigan Business School under CK Prahlad. He has also worked with companies like Ashok Leyland, Hinduja Foundries, Hinduja Ventures and Hinduja Power as a board member. A professional charted accountant, Banerjee has around two decades of experience in strategic financial management across businesses like automobiles, metals healthcare, financial services and information technology.
