By 2020, at least 10 diagnostics firms will be listed in India: Thyrocare’s Velumani

18 October, 2016

A Velumani, founder and CEO of diagnostic chain Thyrocare Technologies Ltd, which made a blockbuster listing earlier this year, sees the industry getting crowded in the near term. Yet, he is not rattled. Instead, he sees this as a positive sign. “Competition is not a problem when 85% of the market is unorganised,” he said in a recent interaction with VCCircle. Despite the anticipated increase in competition, Velumani is confident that Thyrocare will grow impressively over the next two decades buoyed by the favourable demographic mix in the country, increasing healthcare awareness and rising incomes.
