Former ICICI Venture honcho Rajiv Shukla is going to manage emerging market healthcare equities at FrontPoint Partners, the $7-billion hedge fund owned by Morgan Stanley. The hedge fund has just added a strategy focused on healthcare equities in the emerging markets to its investment platform, according to Hedge Funds Review

The report adds that Shukla will manage the strategy alongwith Chip Skowron, a managing director at Morgan Stanley and the founder of the FrontPoint Healthcare Funds. It would go in line with Shukla's domain experience of more than 10 years in the pharma and healthcare field.

A former senior director at Pfizer who has also worked as an executive director at the Indian investment bank Avendus Capital, Shukla was till recently a director of investments at ICICI Venture. The Harvard grad, who began his career with Boston Consulting Group, is now based in FrontPoint's London office.

The emerging markets healthcare strategy is the second addition to FrontPoint's multi-strategy platform in as many months. In February, the hedge fund hired a team to focus on direct lending strategies.
