Industry Moves: Cliff Haigler, Bejul Somaia, Santosh Ghosh

Trans-India Acquisition Corporation, a recently formed blank check firm to make acquisitions in Indian life sciences sector, has got a new CFO. Cliff Haigler will assume responsibilities as principal financial and accounting officer of the company from Craig Colmar, the company’s Treasurer and Secretary, a release says. Trans-India completed its IPO of 11,500,000 units on February 14, 2007.

Haigler is a Chartered Financial Analyst and President of Haigler Investments, a consulting services firm.

Matrix Partners India-backed Four Interactive has announced the appointment of Bejul Somaia to its Board of Directors. Four Interactive is a stealth startup focused on consumer services using mobile, content and the web. Somaia is an active early-stage investor, member of Band of Angels, and was most recently Founder, Chairman & Lead Investor of Open List, a Boston-based vertical web search company he started in 2004 with an emphasis on local search. Open List was acquired by Marchex, Inc in May 2006.

Carwale.com, an auto portal backed by Mumbai-based Seed Fund, has appointed Santosh Ghosh as Vice President, Ad sales. He will be running CarWale's advertising businesses from Mumbai. Ghosh, a former AGM of HindustanTimes.com, has 15 years of experience in ad sales. Earlier he was handling web advertising sales of Sify's Samachar.com, and prior to that at Sify.
