NEA-IndoUS Ventures Invests $2.5 Million In VAS Company Bay Talkitec

The venture capital firm NEA-IndoUS Ventures has invested $2.5 million in Bay Talkitec, a Chennai-based company specialising in media convergence solutions and wireless network. The company plans to deploy integrated audio and video services in the VAS segment for mobile operators in India and worldwide, according to a release.
Bay Talkitec, established in 1991, is one of the early entrants in the computer telephony arena. It provides IVR applications such as announcement systems to major airlines and railways, besides providing solutions to contact center applications, mobile software solutions, VoIP and video messaging applications for 3G Network. Bay Talkitec seems to be entering the lucrative VAS space, where companies like OnMobile, Cellebrum and One97 Communications have a significant presence.
This is the ninth investment of NEA-IndoUS Ventures, a $100-million venture capital fund floated by Vinod Dham and Vani Kola early last year. The fund has earlier invested in InSilica, ISGN, KRK Labs, mGinger, Microquel, Minekey, Obopay and Via.
