ACK Media Acquires Bangalore's Quite Men Studios; To Acquire Career, Community Portals

ACK Media, the media startup which recently made news by acquiring legendary children's media brands Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle magazine, continues with its acquisition journey. The company, backed by stock broker Shripal Morkahia, has acquired a Bangalore-based animation and gaming studio, Quiet Men Studios Pvt Ltd, reports Animationxpress. The studio has a team of eight based out of Bangalore, and has worked with studios like Sony. The studio is presently working on developing characters, including a female lead character, according to a report in Business Standard.
Post acquisition, the studio is renamed Katha Studios. ACK Media has plans to develop media products on various platforms such as theatrical, broadcast, online, print and mobile, among others.
The Economic Times adds: The paper reports that ACK Media is on the prowl for career and community portals. It names a few sites like Wetfeet.com, Jobokplease.com, Pagalguy.com, Lifetips.com and Minglebox.com. They could be names just randomly thrown up, however, ACK's intentions are clear as far as their acquisition strategy is concerned. The company is believed to have earmarked $20 million for growth initiatives.
