Clearstone, SVB Financial Group Invest $5 Million In Games2Win
Clearstone Venture Partners and SVB Financial Group, the parent of Silicon Valley Bank, have invested a total of $5 million in series A round in online gaming company Games2win.com. The investment is led by Clearstone which accounts for a majority share of the investment.
The company was spun out of Alok Kejriwal’s Contests2win. Kejriwal is going to spend more time in Games2win from now on as he is taking over as the CEO of the company. So Contests2win will be run hands on by a separate management.
Games2win had also recently coopted two co-founders - Cyrus Oshidar, former creative head of MTV, and Mahesh Khambadkone, who has earlier worked at Lisle Technology Partners and Dhruva Interactive.
G2W has plans to aggressively expand in online casual games, downloadbale games and also the Massive Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG).
I had a chat with Clearstone’s Director Rahul Khanna on the investment and other issues. I will be posting that later. (Also read the item in ContentSutra)
