Oak Hill Partners Considering Merging Genpact And Vertex?

When you have common owners, this is likely to happen. Oak Hill Capital Partners is believed to be considering merging its two BPO portfolio companies - Genpact and Vertex Data Science, reports Business Standard. Vertex is a recent investment of Oak Hill Partners (along with GenNx360 Capital Partners and Knox Lawrence International).

Apparently there are synergies in merger since the two companies have overlapping verticals and geographies. Post merger, the company may go in for a listing either in India or overseas. Oak Hill and General Atlantic Partners acquired 60 per cent stake in Genpact (formerly Gecis) in 2004.

Genpact employs around 27,000 people, while Vertex has 9,000 people.
