Starwood Capital To Invest $300 Million In India In Next One Year

Starwood Capital Group, a $2-billion global private equity firm specialised in real estate investments, plans to invest $300 million in India. Balaji Rao, Country Head of Starwood Capital, told CNBC TV18 in an interview that Starwood would start making investment in the next month or two and plans to exhaust funds from six to 12 months.

Starwood is keen on all the tier I cities, which are already well-developed and very attractive, but will also look at some prominent tier II cities. Once they deploy the $300 million, Starwood plans to look at a dedicated India fund.
